Meet Dr. Stansbury
Dr. Stansbury made his childhood dream come true by becoming a dentist. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1971 and Baylor College of Dentistry in 1974 he started his practice in Tyler. In order to stay abreast of the latest developments in the always-advancing field of dentistry, Dr. Stansbury completes a number of continuing education courses each year. He is also certified in oral conscious sedation. Dr. Stansbury is active in the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and a number of other professional associations.
General Dentistry and Gum Disease Therapy
First and foremost, Dr. Stansbury wants to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy. With this foundation, he is then able to work with patients who want to enhance the appearance of their smile using cosmetic dentistry.
Healthy smiles begin with regular checkups scheduled at least every six months. In addition to cleaning your teeth and removing the bits of tartar that can lead to gum disease, these appointments give your Tyler dentist the opportunity to monitor the condition of your teeth and gums. Common problems such as tooth decay or gum disease can be remedied sooner rather than later when you stick to routine checkups.
If gum disease therapy is required, then we offer scaling and root planing to prevent further damage to your gums.
One of the most commonly requested and most cost-effective cosmetic dentistry treatments is teeth whitening. Dr. Stansbury uses the KöR whitening system, which combines the convenience of at-home whitening with the power of an in-office treatment to remove any residual stains and ensure your whitest smile. Alternatively, you can stick to at-home whitening, which achieves the same dramatic results more gradually.
Do you have teeth that are structurally damaged—chips, cracks and fractures—or that have gaps between them? Then you may want to consider porcelain veneers. These dental wonders are micro-thin sheaths of dental porcelain that Dr. Stansbury bonds to your smile teeth. Each one is custom designed for a specific tooth so your smile looks completely natural.
To restore a smile that has been compromised by disease or damage, we offer several treatments including:
- Crown and Bridge
- Root Canal Therapy
